Today in class we did a warm-up over metric conversions. This warm-up was used to show both student and teacher where everyone was at when it came to doing metric conversions. To help with confusion that students were having reading the table we filled out last time in class we watched a video that showed 6 steps that you could use to convert between units using the metric system. During the video everyone took notes over the six steps provided. After working through the practice problems we broke into groups using the rows from the seating chart and did a matching activity using a selection of lab equipment. Each group had to match the name of a piece of lab equipment to its name. I will post a quick quiz below that you can test your abilities to match the name of the lab equipment to the picture.
If you missed class you will need to:
If you missed class you will need to:
- Watch the video below and write down the 6 steps that were shown in the video. These steps will be included in your binder and will act as part of your binder check grade before taking the test. I recommend pausing the video when the steps come up on the screen so you have enough time to write them down.
- At the bottom of these notes I would like you to have these 3 practice problems. PLEASE TRY TO DO THEM USING A T-CHART:
- 285.21 meters converted to centimeters (cm).
- 765 grams converted to kilograms (kg).
- 45.5 deciliters (dL) to milliliters (mL).
- Try to do the lab equipment matching quiz attached below.
