Today we talked about different properties of matter. The properties of matter we talked about are as follows:
Malleability: How easy it is to pound something into thin sheets.
Viscosity: How slowly a liquid pours.
Hardness: How hard it is to scratch something.
Tensile Strength: How hard it is to break something when pulling on it.
Density: How compact an object is. The more compact the denser it is.
Brittleness: How easily something shatters when struck or dropped.
Elasticity: How much something can bend and then return back to its original shape.
We also talked about how to calculate density. The equation is mass divided by volume. Or it can be seen in the triangle to the right.
We worked in our binders to work on pages 1.6 and 1.7. The answer keys for these pages will be found below. The answer key that says 1.7 is for 1.6 and the key that says 1.8 is for 1.7.
