Today we started to look at writing chemical equations. This started with looking at writing equations from word equations. We also looked at how to balance equations. The easiest way to look at balancing an equation is to make sure we have the same number of atoms on both sides. We do this by first making sure we have written our compounds correctly and have checked our charges. Then we add coefficients to the front of our compounds like we would in math.
The PowerPoint below has steps to follow for balancing equations as well as information to help translate word equations into formula equations. This should help with the attached worksheet as well.
