Today we talked about double replacement reactions. These are reactions that occur when 2 aqueous solutions are mixed together to form an aqueous solution and a precipitate (solid). To determine if a precipitate is formed by looking at the solubility rules. If the compound is soluble then the solution stays in solution. If the compound is insoluble or slightly soluble then they are a solid.
